The Parachute Skimmer™ has been donated to Sheriff’s Departments and private companies and used to help search for evidence in several investigations.
Caysee Anthony Case: One day in early August of 2008, while watching the news, I was moved by the story about the search in Orlando for little Caylee Anthony, a missing toddler. I realized that the Parachute Skimmer™ could help in the search by weighing it down to skim the bottom of the murky water where teams were searching. I wanted to help so I donated the device to several search teams. Black Water Divers, the dive team hired by Bounty Hunter, Leonard Padilla, used the Parachute Skimmer™ to search. In November, after they found what they thought was evidence, the lead diver discussed my invention on CNN’s Nancy Grace show. Since that time, I have offered and donated the device to several Sheriff’s departments and it has been used to search in other cases.
